How does pvp work in swtor
Like all specs in the Operative class, the Lethality Operative has access to Infiltrate, which is a group-wide stealth ability that allows you to smuggle even your non-stealther teammates into the heart of enemy territory. Excellent for surprise attacks. Your damage definitely needs time to ramp-up as a Lethality Operative, since your attacks are mostly DoT-oriented. The Debilitator set bonus is a great choice for PvP content, as it gives your Exfiltrate a shorter cooldown and grants you two charges to your Debilitate a stun ability.
With excellent sustained damage output and awesome AoE potential, the Pyrotech PT is readily able to take control of a group and dish out huge numbers. Sonic Rebounder, a utility point for all PT specs, is incredible.
This allows your aggro-drop ability to place a shield on seven other allies in range, and reflects any damage done to them, back at their attacker. Like Juggernaut, the PT can peel for its allies by taunting enemy players!
Jump to, or pull your enemy into your flaming fists. Whichever you decide, it will wreak havoc. Pyrotech is once more another spec that is lacking a purely PvP-based guide for 6. As with the others, it lists utilities and provides solid information about set bonuses and Tacticals.
Operative - Concealment Mirror Class: Scoundrel - Scrapper Unseen Assailant : Strike from behind with a chuckle and cut down your foes before they can so much as call for help as the Concealment Operative.
If you know when heavy damage is coming, you can easily time your Exfiltrate and absorb it! Amazing for survivability. Concealment is king when it comes to knockdowns and roots, making it difficult for their enemies to get out of their range. With no chance for escape, your opponent is sure to perish! Concealment is great for stealth-capping points much like Deception , and excels in harassing guards. This is great for mobility and keeping up with any wiley enemy players.
Carbonize allows the Powertech to stun up to 8 enemies within its range, which is helpful for team fight situations and can save the life of your teammates if timed correctly. Like Pyrotech, AP also is able to use Rebounders for team utility. A druid where one would least expect it -New Jersey- Morgan is happiest when immersing herself in the magic of another world, whether in the pages of a book or the technicolor of a beloved video game.

Stuns give your opponent some Resolve, so be sure not to use a Stun unnecessarily, because you might just end up giving them immunity to stuns or other control effects at the wrong time, such as when they have the Huttball and are near your goal.
Similarly, abilities that Slow your opponents don't affect Resolve, and are crucial to delay opponents from reaching objectives. Knockbacks : some classes can knockback or push opponents away. This ability is key in Huttball to knock opponents off of the upper walkways, and in Void Star to knock them off the bridges in area 2. Kiting : kiting is a term used to describe the action of running and fighting at the same time. The objective is to "kite" your opponent as you fight them to move them somewhere you want them, or to keep them at a distance while you kill them from range.

Just a quick suggestion regarding your "Tank" role overview, however. Quote: Originally Posted by Zaodon. Tanks cannot, in fact, Tank in PvP. A well-played tank who uses Guard judiciously and taunts frequently can keep one or two others alive against superior numbers much longer than just a regular class.
There's a reason why Protection is tracked and encouraged with medals. I would advise new players that there is in fact a "tank" role in PvP and that it is not a "free kill" when played properly in a team setting. You don't force enemies to attack you, but by using Guard, Taunts, and interrupts, you can make the opposing team's attacks almost useless unless they're focused on you, and then you have healers to keep you alive.
Aside from that small gripe, your guide is very informative. Thanks again for putting it together. BBCHiyde Server: The Harbinger www. All rights reserved. Free-to-play players who have completed all the expansions they have available will have access to these dailies and weklies:.
Crafting unfortunately is severely hindered for fre-to-play and preferred players, as you can only queue up one crafted item per companion at a time instead of queuing up many items and allowing your companions to craft them over time even if you are away from the computer.
The good news is if you are crafting for fun and for yourself, rather than as part of a crafting production line, crafting as a free-to-play or preferred player is very viable, especially if you buy the unlock which allows you to have all three crew slots available. Roleplaying is a way of acting as your character, and interacting with other players as if you are your character in chat — you could roleplay as a serene jedi, a hardened trooper, or even an imperial mechanic!
Preferred players will have a lot more options available on top of all those F2P activities, depending on what the last expansion they unlocked was and what level their characters are. Preferred players can check out all the same activities as free-to-play players, but they might also have access to story expansion quests and additional planets and reputation tracks. What exactly you have available will depend on what the last expansion you unlocked was.
Subscribers can do everything free-to-play and preferred players can, but also have access to the newest expansions, all the daily areas, unlimited warzones, operations, no credit cap, no restrictions, and they also get cartel coins a month. If you enjoy the game, and have the money, I definitely recommend to subscribe as long as you are actively playing and enjoying the game.
Before you go, if you are currently a preferred player, make sure to watch my video about my referral code — you might be able to get 7 days of free subscription and some other goodies. Bolster is an automatic buff you receive when participating in instanced PvP gameplay such as Warzones and Arenas in unranked game modes. However, there will be a always a difference to those players who have fully optimized their gear with for example augments and set-bonuses. Bolster does not affect Endurance, it boosts only your tertiary stats. When gearing you should consider using an item on every available slot.
The best choice for Unranked PvP to gain the most out of the Bolster effect is to use mods with low Endurance and high Power mods. On the fleet you will find a terminal that contains missions for PvP.
