Where is a field of tulips

From mid March to the end of May, the tulips transform big parts of The Netherlands into a colorful patchwork quilt. If you are traveling to The Netherlands do see the tulips in April, you will discover fields filled with gorgeous color everywhere. Most tulip farms in The Netherlands are located in the Noordoostpolder in the province of Flevoland. The flower bulb fields along the coast of The Hague and Leiden up to Alkmaar in the north are also a great way to enjoy these beautiful flowers.

Tulip season runs from the end of March until mid May, but the flowers are usually at their best halfway through April. More than 7 million flower bulbs bloom in spring at the Keukenhof in Lisse. Visitors who want to see the expansive fields can take tulip cruises or bicycle tours around the gardens. Personally, we'd go the bike route so we could stop and take Instagram snaps as much as we want. We hate to play favorites, but these pink rows are absolutely stunning. How much fun would it be to take a nature walk to your favorite color, then lay down amongst the rows in the warm sun?

In fact, Lisse has deep historical ties with floriculture and is home to the Museum de Zwarte Tulp, dedicated to the Dutch tulip industry. The small tract of fertile coastal land between the cities of Leiden and Haarlem is famed for its expansive tulip fields and is colloquially known as de Duin- en Bollenstreek the dune and bulb region.

This beautiful landscape trails through a small Dutch town called Noordwijkerhout, which is particularly well known for having excellent tulip bulbs. Exploring this region by bike is rewarding and allows you to discover the rural hinterland , rugged dunes and beautiful shoreline of North Holland.
